Nearly two years ago in his State of the State Address, Gov. Doug Ducey promised to make Arizona the center of the sharing economy. He’s focused on cutting regulations and welcoming companies that hire independent contractors like Uber, Lyft and Airbnb. In that same speech, Ducey unveiled a new initiative going after parents who owe child support.

He will be in Arizona this week to celebrate Christmas with his family. But speculation was rampant as recently as Saturday that McCain wouldn’t survive this latest health challenge.

A fire that broke out two weeks ago is still threatening thousands of homes in Southern California. Six more fire trucks from Arizona were dispatched Saturday, bringing the total to 168 Arizona firefighters in California right now.
